Rhythm And Poetry

ok so the following post is about rap music and why it is in fact music. It's quite simple really, most people who think otherwise are just used to melody and that being a song but melody without rhythm is nothing, so that would make them the two main elements of music right? So the thing with rap is that it places more emphasis on the rhythmical aspect, and rather than using the voice as an instrument it uses talking. Of course that's kind of simplifying the whole thing, sounds like anyone can do it, but the same as the way a lot of people can sing doesn't mean that they can make a good song. If you want to liken singing to say a guitar then rapping could be seen as drums. A good example would DJ Shadow which I'm sure alot of you have heard, his music would have a lot of drumming which changes in rhythm so it would be kind of like rap music but without the lyrics. Also there are melodies used but they are just simplified into loops which usually (in the case of samples) take the best part of songs and also make it easier to keep on rhythm. Having a simplified song like this allows someone to place more emphasis on the lyrics and the delivery thereof. Rap songs can afford to be a lot more lyrically complex as the meaning is not hidden behind a melody. Now i know most peoples exposure would extend to eminem at best but there is much more to what kind of music it can be. Also I know there's a lot of shit with retards talking about their cars and my most hated word: bling but believe me in proper circles these people are despised. Sometimes this can be entertaining if it is delivered with wit or you just submit to it's general ignorance and idiocy and enjoy it, like watching an action movie such as Commando. As an artform it is little over 20 years old and therefore is still developing and will probably branch out a lot more into other genres. Now that's a pretty disjointed synopsis with a lot missing but I'm tired and I tried my best, hope you cretins get the idea.

Jealous????

Your jealous!

For those of you unfamiliar with one of my most favoured Simpsons quotes that was a rhetorical question.
Like my swanky new layout? (also rhetorical) My second comment and I've already outdone the rest of you swine. That's right, swine! I went there, there is where i have irrevocably been to, spent time, seen the sights, you know the whole tourist thing, and then left in the gratifying knowledge that i have in fact gone there. Anyway while I'm here I guess I should say something of consequence, oh yeah this is nice: I don't have exams. After this stressful week ahead of me I'm a free agent, sweet tits. two hand-ins for friday but other than that life should be good. Not huge news really but that's all i can think of. Nighty night

I am a blog

I contain the thoughts and opinions of one Product Design virtuoso Stephen King. He is a god like creature whos interests include being a deity, being worshipped, asking people who there Daddy is, being class and being a god. His ambitons are to be more godlike and smite those who dare oppose him. His has previous experience in the field of omnipotence as well as a brief foray into being everywhere at once. His turn offs include non-believers, those who dare oppose him, belief in evolution and anyone who doesn't carry a samurai sword. He can be contacted at this very address by simply leaving a comment. Beware his replies however as his quick witted sarcasm has been known to render adversaries comatose and to a lesser degree impotent.
